Which WordPress plugins are still maintained?

40 widely installed plugins, grouped by what the WordPress.org directory currently says about each one. Every date and count below is read from the directory rather than written by us, most recently on 16 September 2026.

These are maintenance signals, not security findings. We do not query any vulnerability database and we never say a plugin is insecure. What the directory publishes is when a plugin last shipped, which WordPress version its author last tested against, how much of its support forum gets answered, and whether it is still listed. Those are the things that predict whether a plugin will still work after the next core release.

We cover a curated set rather than the whole directory, which runs to about 60,000 plugins, and we are publishing them in waves, so 96 more are written and not listed here yet. To find out what a particular site is running, our free WordPress plugin checker reads any public site and reports the same signals for every plugin it finds.
